A Day In The Life Of Julie Roberts: Living A Leadership Lifestyle

Leadership transcends the boundaries of the office—it's a lifestyle that permeates every facet of life. In this piece, journey with me through a day where the essence of leadership is interwoven into every moment.

Morning Routine

For years, I've embraced the 'Miracle Morning' routine, rising at the early hour of 5 a.m. This early start not only grants me ample time to engage in activities that contribute to my well-being, such as a brisk walk or a Peloton session, but also provides a tranquil window to tackle chores I'd rather not address in the evening.

This morning ritual establishes a positive foundation for the day, aligning mind and body for the tasks and challenges ahead. After a revitalizing shower and a brief overview of my day's agenda, I am poised and ready to seize the day.

Starting the Workday

My mornings are dedicated to team management, marked by open communication and clear expectations. Whether it's one-on-one meetings with managers or group discussions with the entire team, these interactions lay the foundation for a smoothly operating unit ready to help our clients.

Client-Focused Afternoons

My afternoons are primarily reserved for client interactions, encompassing sales calls and strategic meetings. To ensure structured time management, I work through task lists that prioritize essential activities.

Adaptability is paramount; thus, I often find myself conducting meetings on-the-go or leveraging virtual platforms. Amidst these engagements, I take time for a nourishing break, with a preference for Mediterranean bowls featuring chicken and roasted vegetables.

Commitment to Continuous Growth

Beyond my professional responsibilities, I allocate time to continuous learning. To further this education, I make the most of my car journeys by diving into enriching audiobooks and podcasts. A particularly impactful recent selection has been Sheryl Sandberg's "Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead," which offers invaluable insights from her leadership experiences in a predominantly male-driven sector.

Striking a Work-Family Equilibrium

I depart the office around 4:30-5 p.m. to ensure I can prioritize quality time with my family. After the school pick-ups of my children, preparations begin for swim practices. Balancing the dual roles of being a franchise owner and a parent, I leverage resources like professional cleaning services and grocery delivery platforms such as Instacart. This strategy allows me to maintain a dedicated focus on both my business and family responsibilities.

Evening Family Moments:

Evenings are dedicated to family bonding. Whether it's conversing with my loved ones, attending my children’s swim and basketball practices, or taking leisurely walks with my spouse and our cherished Black Lab, these moments emphasize the importance of family ties. They help me strike a balance between professional and personal life.

A cherished routine: The day often draws to a close with time spent in the hot tub, exchanging stories from our day. For those moments of solitude and tranquility, a glass of wine paired with an engrossing book offers the perfect relaxation.

Wrap-Up and Rest

Prioritizing an early morning routine means ensuring a full 8 hours of sleep. After completing a skincare regimen and with the comforting presence of the show "Friends" playing in the background, it's finally my time to rest and recharge for another fulfilling day.

Embark on this journey of embracing a leadership lifestyle, where every moment offers an opportunity for growth and positive impact, both in professional endeavors and personal commitments.
